Head-up Tilt Table Test

  • Your doctor will give you few instructions ahead of time from the exam.
  • No intake of food, solids or liquids even water at least 8 hours before the scheduled exam.
  • There should be no intake of alcohol for at least 24 hours prior to the tests.
  • No caffeine (coffee, tea, sodas etc) for at least 8 hours before the exam.
  • Some of your medications will be stopped the night or morning of the exam especially those that affect the heart rate. The nurses and doctors will give you further instructions in preparation and during the exam.

Treadmill Test

  • Stop caffeine intake 24 hours prior to examination.
  • Stop Beta Blocker Medication (Propanolol, Bisoprolol, Esmolol etc.) 24 hours prior to examination.
  • Make sure to wear tennis shoes (trainers) when you come for examination.

Bronchoscopy Preparation

 

  • Do not drink or eat for at least 8 to 10 hours before the procedure
  • You should arrange for someone to take you home (you will not be allowed to drive because of the sedatives)

N.B: Stop NSAID (anti -inflammatory drugs) 1 week before. In case of Coumadin, Plavix or Aspirin treatment, consult your Doctor for further information.

Colonoscopy Preparation

One day before the Colonoscopy

  • Only Clear Fluid Diet (clear soup, fresh juices, lemonades, no milk should be consumed).
  • Klean-Prep:Solution (4 sachets) to be taken at 2 pm and completed before 8pm. Each sachet should be dissolve in one liter of water.
  • Do not eat or drink anything after midnight.

On Day of the Colonoscopy

  • Please come fasting
  • You should arrange for someone to take you home (you will not be allowed to drive because of the sedatives)

N.B: Stop iron supplements & NSAID (anti -inflammatory drugs) 1 week before. In case of Coumadin, Plavix or Aspirin treatment, consult your doctor for further information.

Flexible Sigmoidoscopy Preparation

One day before Flexible Sigmoidoscopy :

  • Fastingafter Midnight.
  • 1 Fleet Enemaevening time

Morning of the Procedure :

  • Another Fleet Enema.
  • Come fasting.
  • You should arrange someone to take you home (you will not be allowed to drive because of the sedatives)

Gastroscopy Preparation

  • Your stomach and duodenum must be empty for the procedure to be thorough & safe, so you will not be able to eat or drink anything for at least 6 hours beforehand.
  • You should arrange for someone to take you home (you will not be allowed to drive because of the sedatives)
  • Any other instructions will be given for you by your physician
