Unlike traditional methods that require large incisions, we offer the most appropriate minimally invasive surgical approach using keyhole techniques. This reduces pain, scarring, and recovery time significantly.
What Is Laparoscopic Surgery?
Also known as keyhole surgery or minimally invasive surgery, laparoscopic surgery is a modern surgical technique that uses a small camera and specially designed instruments. The operation is performed through tiny incisions, typically 0.5 to 1.5 cm in size.
A small tube fitted with a light and camera, which is the laparoscope, is inserted through one incision. The camera captures images, and the surgeon views them on a monitor and performs the procedure through additional small incisions nearby.
A laparoscope can also be used as part of a laparoscopy test (diagnostic laparoscopy) to help identify the cause of unexplained abdominal symptoms when scans or other tests do not provide clear answers.

Our Approach to Laparoscopic Surgery
We proceed with caution and care. We thoroughly assess the patient and then ensure informing entirely about the laparoscopic surgery. The patient is well-supported before, during, and after the surgery.
Before Surgery
The surgeon will meet you to talk about your condition in detail – right from your medical history to any other relevant information. Our anesthesia and nursing teams will guide you about how you need to prepare for the surgery; you will get fasting instructions, medication adjustments, and information on what to expect on the day of the surgery.
During Surgery
Our team of specialists carries out the procedure under general anesthesia and in a fully monitored operating environment. We maintain absolute precision while viewing real-time images on screen. Most laparoscopic procedures can be completed between 30 minutes and two hours; that depends on the severity of the case.
After Surgery
The recovery procedure follows soon after. We encourage most patients to start walking within a few hours of surgery. In most laparoscopic cases, the patient gets discharged the same day or the following morning. To ensure smooth recovery, we give clear instructions to the patient on wound care, medication, and activity restrictions. We also make bookings for follow-up appointments.
Multidisciplinary Support
Our comprehensive laparoscopy process starts right from consultation and takes you through the end of recovery. Our surgical team works closely with the departments of radiology, anesthesia, and nursing. In fact, patients with complex cases are reviewed collectively before finalizing any surgical plan.

Frequently Asked Questions
1. Does Laparoscopic Surgery Ever Get Converted to Open Surgery during the Procedure?
Yes, it may happen. In some situations, the surgeon may switch to open surgery if it is necessary to ensure the safest outcome.
2. Will I Have Visible Scars after Laparoscopic Surgery?
No, do not worry about that. Laparoscopic surgery uses small incisions, so scarring is usually minimal and less noticeable than with open surgery.
3. Is Laparoscopic Surgery Safe for Older Adults?
Mostly, yes. Many older adults are suitable candidates for laparoscopic surgery, provided they are medically fit for the procedure. Our team of specialists will determine that.
4. What Should I Bring to My Surgical Consultation?
Bring any relevant medical records, scan reports, test results, and a list of current medications so that the surgeon can make a thorough assessment.
5. Are There Any Medical Conditions That May Prevent Laparoscopic Surgery?
Certain conditions, such as severe obesity, extensive scar tissue from previous surgeries, or specific heart and lung disorders, may affect suitability. Your surgeon will discuss the best approach based on your individual case.
